This book is a collection of papers to celebrate the 70 years old birthday of Mr. Chixue Wei, the director of Beijing Wei Chixue Law Firm. Mr. Chixue Wei, a Chinese lawyer, has been working in Chinese IP industry since the 1970s. During this period, he was trained by many Japanese patent attorneys and lawyers, and participated in the legislation and amendment of Chinese IP laws. Mr. Chixue Wei feels deeply that he could not become a qualified IP practitioner without the training and help of the peers of the two countries. As a token of gratitude, this book collects papers and essays on IP practice in China and Japan written by lawyers, patent attorneys and practitioner in IP departments of relevant enterprises, and records their interactions with Mr. Wei. Hopefully it will provide some information to readers to understand the IP practice in China and Japan and Mr. Wei’s personal experience.
